At Outten Chiropractic, we use a variety of proven techniques because every patient’s care is personalized to meet their specific needs. Here’s a look at some of the methods we use in our office:

Thompson Technique

This technique uses a specially designed table with drop pieces that gently assist in adjusting the spine. It’s known for being comfortable and effective, using minimal force to achieve realignment.

Gonstead Technique

The Gonstead method focuses on a detailed analysis of the spine to find the exact area of misalignment. This technique uses X-rays and posture assessments to help identify problem areas accurately. Adjustments are precise and aim to restore normal function and alignment with hands-on care.

Diversified Technique

A widely used manual adjustment method, Diversified involves quick, precise thrusts to improve movement and correct joint dysfunction. It’s versatile and can be applied to many areas of the body.

Instrument Adjusting

For those who prefer or require a softer touch, instrument adjusting uses handheld tools to deliver controlled, precise adjustments without manual thrusts, making it comfortable and effective for all ages.

Toggle Release

This gentle technique targets the upper cervical spine (the top of the neck) using a quick, light thrust. It helps balance the nervous system by realigning the atlas vertebra.

Flexion Distraction

Often used for disc issues and lower back pain, this technique involves a specialized table that moves to gently stretch and decompress the spine, providing relief and improving mobility.

Extremity Adjustments

Chiropractic care isn’t just for the spine! Extremity adjustments focus on joints outside of the spine, such as shoulders, knees, elbows, and wrists, to restore movement and reduce discomfort.

Cervical Drop Technique

This method uses a drop table to assist in adjusting the cervical spine (neck area). It allows for a light force and is ideal for patients who prefer a gentler approach to neck adjustments.
